I recently completed a year-long project producing a short documentary on a local oil painter whose work I greatly admire. Sean Flood is a very talented guy – hails from the south shore (i.e. south of Boston for you out-of-towners) and has built and impressive portfolio of work. We met at a group exhibit the Distillery in South Boston, where I got the idea for the doc.
For the gear heads: when faced with a combination of desire and zero budget, you shoot your movie on the damn iPhone. Yes, the iPhone. You also record audio on a 10 year old mini disc recorder and sync it by eye in post. I’ve been asked by an multimedia instructor at Harvard to show the movie to his students.
